The Role:
We have a role to for an Operations Director with commercial acumen to join an established and growing company. The will be based across 2 sites and you will act as number 2 to the MD, with responsibility for a number of Managers.
You will take responsibility for managing your department's accounts, profit and loss control and provision of financial reports and forecasting to keep the business on track to achieve maximum profits through excellent financial controls and sourcing new business opportunities.
You will develop and implement business development strategies, this includes identifying new opportunities, developing new client relationships and creating business proposals. You will be required to successfully handle both short and long-term commercial ventures, working closely with the Head of Marketing and PR and the Management Accountant. We will be required to act as project manager ensuring that various projects are completed within agreed deadlines, within budget and to an extremely high standard.
Working hours are 40 hours a week worked over five days including weekends
The Person:
This is a senior role, so between five and ten years' experience of successful operations management in the hotel sector, preferably high end hotels. Along with demonstrating management experience you must have experience developing commercial strategy; have a strong financial acumen and a proven track record of maximising profits whist maintaining quality. You must be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, partners, suppliers and staff.
Experience

*Must have a strong financial acumen and a proven track record of maximising profits whist maintaining quality.
*Along with demonstrating management experience, you must have developed commercial strategy.
*Strong leadership qualities to inspire and motivate people to drive the business forward and achieve business goals.
*Outstanding interpersonal and networking skills.
*Excellent project management and time management skills.
*Expert negotiating skills
*The capacity to meet project deadlines
*Decisiveness and commercial shrewdness
*Solid problem solving, decision making and analytical capabilities
*Excellent computer skills, experience in Microsoft packages, Word, Excel etc.
*Degree in a commercial, financial or business related field would be advantageous
*First Aid certificate
*Full driving licence and own car
