SMS Driveforce are an established employment business based in Aylesford supplying both temporary and permanent staff to local haulage and distribution companies. We are proud to work alongside local businesses and big nationals alike.
We are currently recruiting for 2 night shunters with class 1 (C+E) for a large food distribution company in Aylesford. You will be responsible for the safe and accurate movements of both trailers and rigid vehicles in a busy depot that operates 24/7. The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines is a must as is being able to react to different situations as and when they arise. You will have a polite and friendly personality being able to communicate well with supervisors, delivery drivers and warehouse staff and be able to organise paperwork to ensure that vehicle movements are easily tracked.
Ideally you will have 2 years experience of class 1 driving to ensure you are competent and quick whilst being safe when manoeuvring vehicles in a busy environment. A flexible approach to work is also a must as they may be times when you are required to be on the road carrying out trunking tasks between depots.
The roles are; Sunday to Thursday 19:00 to finish and Monday to Friday also at 19:00 to finish. Finish times will depend on workloads and the day to day pressures that come with a bustling depot but you are generally looking at a shift between 8 and 10 hours.
