Pharmaceutical Technical Support Officer
Permanent – South East UK
GW has established a world leading position in the development of plant-derived cannabinoid therapeutics through its proven drug discovery and development processes, intellectual property portfolio and regulatory and manufacturing expertise.
The company has a deep pipeline of additional clinical stage cannabinoid product candidates for both orphan and non-orphan indications with a particular focus on neurological conditions.
We are currently recruiting for a Pharmaceutical Technical Support Officer to join the Production Team. We are offering an exciting and innovative place to work, with an excellent benefits package and a strong team culture.
The Role
• The Primary function is to support Production Department and wider Manufacturing Operations group, in order to implement/develop new processes and/or product lines and optimise current processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Support new Production facility and existing Production facility upgrades Commissioning and Qualification activities.
• Support new Production equipment implementation and existing Production equipment upgrades Commissioning, Qualification and Validation activities.
• Where quality/safety issues arise, lead/participate in investigations into root causes.
• Look to identify, lead and/or support Continuous Improvement ideas/initiatives across the Production Department.
• Act as “Production representative” on key projects and approved business plans where required.
• Generation and review of key Production cGMP/EH&S documents, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Deviations (CAPAs), Change Controls, Risk Assessments, Training Modules and Commissioning/Validation Protocols.
• Provide resolution and support to manufacturing or process issues, process optimisations and process improvements
• Support the delivery of company/site objectives to the required Quality, Regulatory and EHS standards.
• Participate in Technical Transfer of new process/products into internal Production facilities and external Contract Manufacturing Organisations (CMOs).
Essential Skills
• Interacts with other functions and sites in order to ensure timely delivery of projects.
• Technical experience of working in a regulated industry preferably in Pharmaceuticals.
• Experience of participating on a continuous improvement project
• Scientific or Engineering degree
• Good oral, written and presentation skills essential
