Pharmaceutical Operations Support Group Manager
Permanent – South East UK
GW has established a world leading position in the development of plant-derived cannabinoid therapeutics through its proven drug discovery and development processes, intellectual property portfolio and regulatory and manufacturing expertise.
The company has a deep pipeline of additional clinical stage cannabinoid product candidates for both orphan and non-orphan indications with a particular focus on neurological conditions.
We are currently recruiting for a Pharmaceutical Operations Support Group Manager to join the Production Department. We are offering an exciting and innovative place to work, with an excellent benefits package and a strong team culture.

The Role
The team’s primary function is to support the Production Department in order to implement/develop new/existing processes and/or product lines and optimise current processes.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the team to provide Technical Support to Production and the wider Manufacturing Operations groups. Provide resolution and support to manufacturing or process issues, process optimisations and process improvements
• Lead/support the Planning, Design, Commissioning and Qualification activities associated with new and/or improved Production facilities/processes, (including process equipment). Lead/support Process Validation activities.
• Ensure systems and processes conform to all relevant EH&S, cGMP and Validation requirements.
• Develop site Automation and Control systems to improve the Quality and Efficiency of internal processes and business systems. To adopt best practices in Automation to continue to improve performance
• Support the delivery of company/site objectives to the required Quality, Regulatory and EH&S standards.
• Develop key interface with Technical R&D, in order to ensure effective and efficient Technical Transfer of new process/products into internal Production facilities and external CMOs.
• Communicate widely with internal and external stakeholders/business partners where required.
• Where required deputise for and sign off relevant documentation in place of
• Head of Production

Essential Skills
• Interacts with other functions and sites in order to ensure timely delivery of projects.
• Demonstrated track record of leading a team/managing people.
• Experience working in a regulated industry preferably in Pharmaceuticals.
• Recent and extensive experience of working in the Process or Pharmaceutical Industry. Working in a cGMP or regulated industry would be preferable
• Project Management experience.
• Good oral, written and presentation skills essential
• A background in Process or Chemical Engineering is desirable.
