Company Accountant
The company
This organisation is the financial and logistical arm of a leading manufacturing company. They are looking for a Qualified Company Accountant to join them and manage all aspects of the finance function and lead a team of 2 junior accounts individuals.
This is an excellent opportunity for a conscientious finance professional to establish themselves as the key financial member of the business in the UK, maintaining the financial controls, supporting the directors and providing the necessary reporting to the board.
Responsibilities
*Reviewing the company's processes and identifying any potential cost savings.
*Ensuring that financial controls are robust, adequate and cost effective
*Operating a conscious process of managing, organising and developing all direct reports
*Advising the Finance Director of any financial and IT matters which affect the company.
*Managing and controlling the financial facilities for the company.
*Preparing financial plans, budgets and forecasts for the business.
*Informing the Finance Director full details of the monthly management accounts.
*Preparing the annual budget for approval of the Board of Directors.
*Managing and developing the company's IT facilities in conjunction with the appointed third party support company.
*Preparing statutory accounts in conjunction with the company's auditors.
Key Tasks
*To prepare and present management accounts within an agreed timescale
*Monitoring of stock levels for accuracy and cost effectiveness
*To review and control day to day cash requirements.
*To recommend credit facilities which fall outside normal controls.
*To liaise with Auditors, Bank, Invoice Finance and other financial institutions on behalf of the company.
*To carry out financial investigations and report the findings as and when required.
*To effectively communicate at all levels verbally and supported in writing where appropriate.
*To carry out any other tasks as requested and agreed with the finance and other directors.
Experience
*Prior management experience
*Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or QBE
*Multi-currency would be advantageous
*Able to manage IT facilities
*Has the gravitas to manage Auditors
*Can prepare management and statutory accounts to a high level
