Analytical Scientist – 6 month FTC

We are currently looking to recruit an Analytical Scientist with experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or formulation development to come and join us initially for a 6 month fixed term contract. You will be working in our analytical development group supporting our finished dose manufacturing facility. Ideally we are looking for candidates that have at least 2 years experience working as an Analytical Scientist, however if you have worked in a manufacturing environment or have an interest in this area we would still like to hear from you to see how we can help.

Main Purpose of the Job
Provide analytical support for commercial manufacturing activities on new and existing products, raw materials and to provide technical support to project teams at the Queenborough site. Scope includes executing the following activities:
• Test Method Transfers
• Process Validation Testing of new business products
• Individual testing projects generated through the commercial group
• Test Method Validation
• Support product, production or test method investigations of new business projects
• Facilitate introduction of new analytical equipment

Some of your tasks will consist of:-
• Evaluate excipients for use in development of formulations
• Conduct experiments to develop formulations with suitable characteristics according to client expectations
• Set-up manufacturing equipment to ensure correct functionality and calibration compliance
• Operate manufacturing equipment and automated systems within the validated process parameters
• Review/carry out relevant in-process tests, yield calculations, product sampling and inspection
• Responsible for completion and review of batch documentation in compliance of GMP and client expectations
• Create, write, review and update manufacturing documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures and participate in quality investigations

Skills / Competencies required
• Degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry (2ii or above) or equivalent
• Experienced in analytical science in a GMP R&D pharmaceutical environment.
• Thorough understanding of the GLP documentation requirements.
• Proven experience in a range of analytical techniques including HPLC, GC, dissolution testing
• Proven experience of timely delivery of high quality analytical projects
• Fully competent in MS office and associated analytical software
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem solving abilities.
