Quality Controller (Insurance)
Location - Sevenoaks, Kent
Salary - £ 16,500 + Excellent Benefits
My client is an innovative and entrepreneurial group of companies specialising in Motor Insurance Services., who are very proud to have featured highly in the Sunday Times Best 100 Companies to Work For` for the past three years running and achieving Investors In People Gold` and Champion` statuses.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking to attract a Risk Quality Controller to join the group based near Sevenoaks to join Risk Quality Control Team.
The key responsibility of this role is to ensure that the business that they are writing is done so at the correct insurance premium and has appeared on the systems with the correct details and, in doing so, support the achievement of departmental objectives, SLAs and KPIs.
Responsibilities:
- To help develop and utilise MI and internal reporting tools to enhance risk controls, identify adverse risks and reduce premium leakage.
- To work with Product Heads across the business to continue to develop tighter controls and increase the quality of the risks being written
- To work with the Product Support Team, MI and Business Systems Support to identify, analyse and develop more robust controls for the processing of business
- To work with the Team Leaders and Managers in Operational Underwriting to assist in the identification of process improvements and training developments across the department to help reduce premium leakage and the identification of adverse risks.
- To ensure that business is processed accurately and in a timely manner to include:
- Activating pending EDI transactions and investigating referral and decline indicators within agreed parameters
- Checking criteria for various schemes and reporting upon exposures
- Investigating new business and renewal premium discrepancies and working with Product Support to implement appropriate changes
- Ensuring that renewal premiums are being invited on the correct basis, to include broker led renewals
- Ensuring risks are recorded accurately on the system with the correct risk details and appropriate endorsements and excesses
- To develop a detailed knowledge and understanding of all products and schemes
- To ensure that DPA, FCA, TCF, Data Protection and other regulatory requirements are met
- To develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and business partners across the group
Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience of motor insurance is desired but not essential
- Underwriting knowledge is preferred but not essential
- Excellent computer literacy is preferred including a good working knowledge of MS Office suite
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work as part of a close team
- Keen eye for detail
- Effective communication skills
- A flexible, adaptable and positive attitude and approach
- Analytical problem solving skills
