Principal Pricing Analyst - Projects - Home Insurance

Job Description
This is an exciting projects based role, delivering a diverse portfolio of pricing projects from new product and proposition launches, to research and development in new tool deployment in customer pricing. As a principal analyst you will be supporting, and deputising for the pricing manager, helping the team in their productivity, and mentoring junior analysts.
The projects involved will influence trading performance, and technical pricing efficiencies and effectiveness.
Your duties as a principAL projects pricing analyst will include but not be limited to the following:
-Assist in the day to day planning, monitoring and delivery of the end to end projects to meet the agreed business requirement within the agreed timescales
-Update and develop pricing models as required to enable the business to both price effectively and to manage pricing risk effectively
-Strive continuously to improve the statistical validity and efficiency of all modelling, projection processes and techniques
-Support the design, improvement and enforcement of appropriate controls to ensure that testing is fit for purpose, is not superfluous and is as efficient and economical as possible, complies with all audit requirements e.g. FRCF and GIA, etc and minimises the occurrence of incidents in production
-Work closely with wider project teams and other Pricing and Underwriting teams to deliver upon pricing projects and new initiatives
-Develop your own skills and knowledge such that you have the expertise required to achieve current and future business requirements. In addition, support the work stack management and development of less experienced pricing analysts
-Identify, own and manage the risks involved in running our business appropriately to this role, in line with the company risk framework. Communicate to peers and team managers in a timely manner where you have discovered price, model or data issues and suggest appropriate remedial actions
-Ensure compliance with core company policies, statutory and regulatory requirements, governance controls (including all relevant risk minimum standards) and timely completion of risk and audit actions. Ensure reputational risk is minimised
The Successful Applicant
As a Principal Pricing Analyst you will be somebody with at least 2-3 general insurance pricing experience, who possesses first class communication, and stakeholder management skills.
You will be educated to degree level within a relevant mathematically focused subject, and ideally possess hands on experience with SAS, Radar, or similar software.
With this being a principal level role you will be an effective team player, who is also able to take the lead, and develop others, deputising for the pricing manager in their absence.
