An opportunity has arisen for a Support Team Leader to head up an Application Support team. Reporting into the Senior IT Services Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for establishing the processes and behaviours to continue to develop the team into a mature Application Support function. You will also ensuring that there is a consistently a good quality local IT support service for colleagues based at this site.
AJ Bell is a fast moving company and the Technology Services department is delivering a varied and rapid programme of change. As such, this role will be hands on and could suit someone who is looking to move from a technical field into leading a support team; or an existing support team leader with a broad array of technology experience.
This role will be based in Tunbridge Wells but there is cross site responsibility for the IT Support in our London office. The successful candidate will work out of the London Bridge Office at least once per month.
The key responsibilities of the role are:
• Line Management of the support team members
• Ownership of the on-site support requirements for Tunbridge Wells and London Offices
• Attendance and input into Change Meetings
• Ensuring consistent achievement of Incident and Service Request SLAs
• Oversight and delivery of Service Improvement initiatives
• Mentoring and coaching of existing team members
• Serving as an escalation point for operational colleagues within Tunbridge Wells and London
• Involvement in management of Important Suppliers
• Problem Management and root cause analysis
• Management of Major Incidents
Essential skills and experience:
• Extensive knowledge and experience of Windows or Linux Server administration including troubleshooting. Some competence with the other.
• Some experience with Line Management
• Experience working within a Change and Release framework
• Major Incident Management
Desirable skills and experience:
• Technical IT certification
• ITIL Certified
• Knowledge of a database language, SQL, MySQL, MongoDb etc.
• Knowledge and/or experience of working in an Agile environment
• Knowledge of Figaro or iSeries administration (AS400)
• Financial Services experience

• Able to challenge appropriately and present solutions
• Self-starting and able to work on own initiative
• A high attention to detail
• Ambitious and driven to exceed expectations
• An analytical mind-set and technical ability
