Support Worker - Complex Needs

Up to £16,500 + Excellent benefits package

Connect2staff are currently recruiting for permanent Support Workers to work within a supported living environment with adults with complex learning disabilities.
Our client takes pride in providing quality care and support. You will be working within a team based in a small, unique family style home where the ethos is to support independence, dignity and choice.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company that invests in its staff and provides excellent training and development within the role.

Your responsibilities:

*Provide good quality care and support to the adults based on their needs through a person-centred
approach
*Assist them in every aspect of their daily lives, including personal care
*Work on a 1:1 or 2:1 ratio
*Provide a safe and supportive environment that enables individuals to feel valued, reach their
potential and nurture their aspirations
*Maintain appropriate records and written reports


Requirements of Support Worker Role:

*Experience of working with people with learning disabilities
*Knowledge of autism and epilepsy would be an advantage
*You will need to be considerate, patient, self-motivated, enthusiastic, respectful, non-judgmental
and professional
*You will need to be flexible as shifts include long days; weekends, sleep-ins; occasional
awake nights - these hours are allocated each Month on a rota basis
*Good verbal and written communication skills plus basic IT and report writing skills
*A Health & Social Care NVQ2 or Level 2 Diploma Qualification would be beneficial or be working
towards or a willingness to work towards within 18 months of commencement


Salary and Benefits:

*Enhancements for bank holidays (double time plus time off in lieu)
*22 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays; Additional annual leave for 3,4 and 5
years continuous service
*Paid DBS check renewed every three years
