Digital Editor– Maternity Cover – 9 months

We're looking for an experienced digital content editor with a successful track record of creating and commissioning digital editorial content and content marketing campaigns to join the Saga Publishing team here at our office in Enbrook Park in Sandgate, Kent, less than an hour away by rail from London St Pancras.

You'll be researching keywords, analysing competition, commissioning, editing and uploading content, as well as optimising existing content to increase its organic SERP ranking. You'll also be using Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics to make sure your content is achieving its SEO targets, as well as creating newsletters to promote your content.

Whether you're creating an article, a video, a podcast or an infographic, we expect you to know your copyright law, the ins and outs of image rights, keywords, navigation, content structure, SEO, customer journeys and engagement tactics.

You will also be up to date with the latest digital and social media trends and be fast and efficient at using a variety of tools and applications, including Photoshop, content management systems, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Bright Edge, Moz and content planning schedules.

Day to day, the digital editor will be responsible for content requirements across all digital channels, including online, email, mobile and social. You will also work with the SEO and analytics manager to monitor content performance and to act on insights to improve traffic and engagement metrics.

In addition to creating digital editorial content that supports Saga Publishing’s activities, you will also contribute to content marketing campaigns that support the wider business objectives of the Saga Group.

To be successful in this role you will have excellent commissioning, writing and editing skills, with a good understanding of digital content creation, and the willingness to keep on learning and adapting. You will be a well-organised and technically adept person, with an understanding of what makes successful online content. You also need to be happy to work on a range of subject areas.

Does this sound like it could be the right opportunity for you?

In return, you can look forward to interesting and fast-paced work within a supportive team, where training and development is ongoing.
