Matthew Scott, the Kent Police and Crime Commissioner and the Chief Constable of Kent Police have an Audit Committee to provide an independent and high level focus on the audit and assurance that underpin their good governance and financial standards, as evidenced by Kent Police’s recent HMIC report.
Following completion of their terms of appointment, there is currently a vacancy for two members and we are seeking applications from people who have:
• High level experience of scrutinising financial information & processes
• Understanding of risk control
• Understanding of and demonstrable commitment to the Nolan Principles
• Willingness to give the time commitment (including reading, preparation time and ad hoc meetings).
• Experience of operating at a senior level in a complex organisation with a variety of stakeholder interests.
The Committee meets around four times a year. Members will be paid a daily rate of £211.50 (half rate for half days).
Please note, this role requires a level of vetting.
