In order to meet the needs of our rapidly expanding business we are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the company.
The successful candidate will be reporting to a Senior Surveyor and work with Contracts Managers on a range of projects including refurbishment and fit out of commercial units along with the conversion and / or refurbishment of residential dwellings throughout the home counties.
Responsibilities:
Meet client to develop cost plan and feasibility study, establish contractual responsibilities.
Prepare schedule of works from planning drawings, client briefing and site inspection.
Prepare and submit sub-contractor and supplier tender enquiry packages in conjunction with the terms of the main contract, analyse returns and report best value.
Assist with preparation of main contractor’s tender submission.
Prepare cash flow forecasts and establish valuation dates.
Prepare and place subcontractor orders in accordance with the established terms.
Monitor subcontract progress, agree subcontract valuations and certify sums due.
Prepare and submit valuations to the client / client’s representative in accordance with the agreed valuation dates, ensure certificates and invoices are raised within the allotted time frame.
Advise the client / clients representative promptly when variations have a cost or programme implication. Maintain projected final account forecasts and submit applications for extension to contract periods on a timely basis.
Monitor project expenditure to ensure targets are maintained, report any deviation. Provide cost / value reports periodically.
Experience Required:
At least 5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role
Qualified to HND / HNC or similar in construction
Be able to work to deadlines
