Position Summary:
Undertaking training both within a classroom setting at a nominated training centre and also within the Engineering Department, learning from a dedicated Machine Maintenance Engineer. You will be trained to assist in the planned preventative maintenance, repairs and installation of plant, machinery and equipment on site, including injection moulding equipment and associated ancillaries. You will be required to learn to be able to diagnose and analytically solve machine related problems, using safe working practices, whilst ensuring the safety of persons operating on or around machine.
Key Accountabilities:
•To attend college and successfully complete all courses undertaken
•Be responsible for your own and others health and safety whilst obeying all instructions and wearing appropriate PPE
•Undertake any task set with enthusiasm, dedication and focus
•To proactively ask questions and gain knowledge and skills
•To learn to install, maintain and repair plant, machinery and equipment, ensuring all safety requirements are met and adhered to.
•To learn to carry out planned preventative maintenance as instructed, and identify areas for improvement.
•Work closely with the facility HS&E Teams to ensure conformity as and when necessary and liaise with the HR regarding any employee related safety issues.
•To communicate by written and verbal means using the Company communication channels to ensure the understanding of colleagues and management, particularly use of email communication.
•To have an active involvement in improvement activities to support the achievement of departmental and company objectives.
•To ensure that housekeeping within the area is maintained in a satisfactory condition.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Essential: At least 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) including Maths, English & IT at C grade or above
Ability to diagnose and solve analytical problems
An aptitude and desire to study for an Engineering qualification
Willingness to learn
Team Player
Desirable: Practical skills with an interest in engineering and technology
