A newly created position of Head of Technical has been created for a global manufacturing company who are highly regarded as an employer of choice in Kent.

The incoming candidate will be an active member of the Commercial Steering Group - the role will be fully accountable for the technical development of the company's product and system offers to the UK markets.

Working at strategic level, the role is responsible for all understanding, interpreting, and leveraging changing industry legislation to protect and improve the company's standing within it's range of (competitive) markets.

On a daily basis, the Head of Technical will lead all technical, training, and R&D departments to achieve strategic and operational goals - influence and improving the performance of these departments, particularly in client facing roles.

The successful candidate will be expected to travel to the Kent operation on a frequent basis - but flexibility is needed in order to operate in the field, too. Prior experience of leading all areas of R&D for a construction based product is paramount in order to make a successful application - without this an application will not be considered.

Proven leadership skills are necessary - the role carries management of a number of direct reports. expert communication skills are required too, considering how much internal stakeholder communication is required (the role will lead all communication with the in-house marketing team), coupled with a large amount of external stakeholder communication (influencing/lobbying the market).
