Graduate Surveyor

Barker Munro is pleased to be working with this entrepreneurial real estate company who are based in Kent and are currently going through a period of expansion and are looking to add a Graduate Surveyor to their in house chartered surveying team.

The main focus as Graduate Surveyor will be to support the management team within the Valuation department but also to gain exposure within the larger group based work and working with the investment Director in order to understand more about the workings of the company. You will be exposed to all areas of the business including property management, professional work and agency work but there is no fixed rotation work within the departments.

To be considered for the role of Graduate Surveyor, my client is looking for you to be able to demonstrate various key qualities which will include, but are not limited to, being ambitious, good communication skills, the ability to challenge and question decisions and ask for commentary on why certain processes are adhered to. You will also be able to show enthusiasm to learning and be presentable and articulate. My client is looking for you to be their 'Sponge' and to soak up a lot of information and to then use this information as a graduate surveyor to enhance and develop your career with them.

What knowledge and skills do you need to show for the Graduate Surveyor? Well, some practical hands on awareness of carrying our commercial and residential valuations would be great. This could have come through University placements or actual exposure within a surveyors. A desire to study is key. You will already have gained a property related degree or masters and will have a strong desire to take up qualifications with RICS.
