One of the UK's leading direct food importer and distributors is looking to appoint a HSFE Manager to join their expanding team. Based in Paddock Wood this is an excellent local opportunity.

Salary £25,000-£28,000pa + 28 days holiday, onsite parking, cycle to work scheme, pension etc.
Working Hours: 8am-5pm

Job Purpose

Responsible for the Health & Safety management of the Company, reducing risk exposure through compliance and best practice.
This is an outline job description and employees are expected to undertake other duties as directed. It is not intended as a wholly comprehensive or permanent schedule and is not part of the contract of employment.
Waste management and compliance, including certification to meet BRC and other standards.
Site Security - Ensure adequate security systems are in place and maintained. This includes but is not limited to: CCTV, door access systems and security alarm (including out of hours).
Health & Safety
Create and maintain the H&S Management Plan.
Review, implement H&S policy and ensure compliance.
Design and develop systems, processes, safe working practices and clear documentation.
Create and disseminate relevant communications, ensuring these are clear and unambiguous.
Ensure accidents & near misses are reported, recorded and investigated, and that corrective actions identified are implemented.
Produce monthly KPIs on accidents & near misses and report to the Board on developments in Employer H&S responsibilities and compliance, attending Board meetings as invited.
Ensure appropriate PPE is available and where necessary training is provided on its use.
Obtain Fire Drill reports from site management and ensure actions required are carried out.
Responsible for all H&S signage (H&S poster, emergency exits and procedures, first aiders, warnings, cautions, etc.)
Maintain COSHH folder including data sheets, liaising with Technical as required.
Produce and regularly review (at least annually) risk assessments and method statements. This includes: facilities, equipment, tasks, DSE, company drivers, etc.
Arrange and Chair monthly H&S Committee meetings, ensuring actions required are completed within agreed timescales.
Review, arrange, provide and implement all required H&S training, including: H&S induction training; First Aiders; Fire Wardens; COSHH; Manual Handling; Slips, trips and falls, etc.
Ensure PAT testing, Fire Extinguisher maintenance, lighting and monthly emergency lighting tests are undertaken per regulations.
Provide facilities management.
