2nd Line Support - Server, TCP/IP, DNS - Chatham, Kent - £25,000 to £28,000 per annum

My client is currently looking for a 2nd Line Support Engineer based in Chatham, Kent to join their large IT team to carry out hands on and telephone support for all of their internal staff and systems. This role offers a lot of different variations of tasks such as hardware, software, network and server hands on and remote support as well as working on projects so you must posses good knowledge of the below skill set.

Daily duties

* Provide 2nd line support for all users across the business via telephone, email and deskside
* Provide support for the internal telephone system which is based on Avaya. This can range form installation and set up
* Managing network cabling, patching and hardware installations or moves
* Getting involved with IT projects that fall in IT working with the management to deliver the plan
* When necessary travel to other UK location for overnight stays for builds and large changes across the infrastructure (quite rare)

Skill set required - You will need strong skills with the following

* Active Directory
* TCP/IP, OSI Layers, DNS and DHCP
* Windows Server 2008 to 2012 R2
* Windows 7 & 10 support
* Avaya Telephony products and hardware

Desirable skills include

* SCCM - System Centre Configuration Manager
* GPO's - Group Policy Object
* PowerShell
* AS400
* Cisco Networks
* BackupExec

This is a great opportunity due to the progression, training and different areas you will get to work on

Working hours - 40 hour week - Mon to Fri - 6:00 to 15:00 and 10:00am to 19:00. This is done a shift rota due to the size of the organisation. Some out of hours on call work will be required whihc is also on a rota.
