Our established pharmaceutical Client based in Kent is currently looking to recruit a Group Manager - API Development on a full time, permanent basis.
The post holder will manage the group with responsibility for delivery of manufacturing processes. The processes range from botanically derived, semi-synthetic or synthetic options and involves working with outsource API suppliers.
They will liaise with the Operations group and will be responsible for the communication and/ or presentation of data to company and to scientific conferences and peer reviewed journals as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Development and optimisation processes to deliver API to meet business demands.
• Management and supervision of the API team, providing advice on process development.
• Project management of API projects.
• Update the technical senior management team on the progress of manufacturing processes and ensure regular liaisons with other technical teams for ongoing project management.
• Maintain a current understanding of the available literature in the relevant manufacturing field.
• Prepare manuscripts or provide technical writing for regulatory submissions if required.
• Role holder is responsible to maintain cGxP and Health and Safety knowledge relevant to the role.
KEY ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS/EDUCATION
Knowledge:
• Degree or PhD in Chemistry, chemical engineering or closely related subject, with significant experience of process chemistry and scale up or liquid CO2 extraction scale up.
Skills:
• Organic Synthesis both practical and theoretical
• Process scale up
• Project management
• People management
• High level of numeracy
• Excellent attention to detail
Attributes and Behaviours:
• Develops and maintains positive working relationship with the team.
• Shares ideas and information
• Ability to meet project deadlines
• Willingness to assist and coach colleagues as required
