This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Availability Manager to join a FTSE 100 business within an exciting period of change within Technology Services. Aiming to be at the forefront of technology, this is a challenging, rewarding and innovative time to join this organisation.

 
This role will be responsible for defining, maintaining and ensuring the integrity and consistency of end to end Technology Service Management processes aligned to Service Management strategies, architectures, policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities will include:

- Provide expert advice and guidance on availability.
- Identify and manage availability issues and risks.
- Assist with investigation and diagnosis of incidents and problems relating to availability management
- Forecast future availability and capacity requirements based on business plans, usage trends, service portfolio plans.
- Ensure all changes are assessed for their impact on availability / performance and attend CAB meetings as required
- Contribute to the development and management of outcome based contracts with 3rd party suppliers to ensure that service providers have sufficient capacity / availability to meet current and future demands and that issues with contract performance are addresses appropriately.
- Ensure performance / availability requirements are optimised and cost justified. Ensure agreed service continuity and availability commitments can be met.
- Contribute to the design and execution of availability and capacity testing.
- Develop, maintain, communicate and execute a robust process management, process governance and process assurance framework integrating component services and suppliers into an effective, efficient end to end process. Align with agreed Service Management architectures, policies and standards.
- Create and maintain high quality process artefacts (e.g. process design documentation, templates, guidelines). Ensure process artefacts are regularly reviewed, audited and subject to continual improvement to remain fit for purpose.
- Lead / facilitate investigations and decision making to ensure that the views of stakeholders are considered, verified and validated.
- Contribute to the development and configuration of tools to support processes.

Suitable candidate will have extensive experience of capacity planning and availability management within a large scale, enterprise environment. Any experience within the insurance industry would be highly beneficial as would financial services. However, backgrounds within retail, airlines etc. would also be of great interest. Solid experience with ServiceNow will be beneficial and a strong understanding of ITIL principals will be key.
