An experienced and qualified Financial Controller is required to report to the Finance Director and lead the company's financial accounting, reporting and control activities to ensure they are carried out efficiently, effectively and in line with best practice.

The organisation is in the process of expansion and the role would enable the successful applicant to work with autonomy and make the position their own.

Duties and Responsibilities:

*Managing the finance team and ensuring that all internal controls are adhered to
*Financial reporting of the company
*Preparing the annual budget for approval and updating the model on a monthly basis
*Developing systems both in finance and throughout the company to drive efficiencies
*Full analysis of time, and WIP, debtors to maximise the cash flow for the company
*Preparation of corporation tax computations ready for submission, and tax planning for the company
*Ensuring the continual development of the Finance team, to continually increase their skill sets and personal development
*Preparation of VAT returns

Skills / Attributes Required:

*Fully qualified accountant - ACA or ACCA as well as 2:1 or higher degree
*Previous experience in a similar position, including experience of providing Financial Control.
*Preparation of statutory accounts and audit liaison as well as a good understanding of Corporation Tax and VAT
*Full knowledge of UK GAAP, and current accounting disclosures and statutory requirements. As well as current UK corporation tax and VAT regimes
*Very strong excel abilities, with ability to program in VBA an advantage
*Experience of managing staff within the Accounts department.
*Commercially aware and strategically minded
