H V Wooding Ltd has been established in Hythe, Kent for over 40 years. Our core skills are in the manufacture of metal pressings, electrical busbars and CNC machining, supplying some of Europe’s largest manufacturers.

We have a vacancy for a QC Inspector to join our busy Quality Control team.

The main duties will include –
Ensuring that components produced are of the best quality, correct to customer specification
Verifying dimensions
Checking that parts have been manufactured as per customer requirements
Checking first offs that setter/operator require second checking
Goods inwards inspection of material & sub con parts received from suppliers
Inspecting components before they are sent to customer
Recording non conforming products
Creating plans to improve product quality
Identifying causes for non conformance and recommend actions at NCR meetings
Assisting with the calibration of company equipment as required
Occasional interaction with visiting customers and suppliers

You will need to –
Be able to read engineering drawings this is essential
Use a range of specialist measuring equipment (Micrometers, verniers, height gauges, slip gauges etc.)
Have a good understanding of maths
Have good attention to detail and good organisational skills
Knowledge and a good understanding of a CMM machine would be an advantage

The hours for this position will be Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm and 8am to 1pm on Fridays.
