Trainee Estimator

Introduction:

The company is niche manufacturer and contractor supplying and fitting specialist construction products to contractors, end-users and the trade.

Within the business model, the Estimators are responsible for dealing with the client’s requirements from initial enquiry quotation, client order and execution of the works, final account and profitability of the projects. Initially supporting the Project Management team.

Hours of Work 8:30am – 5:30pm Monday to Friday (including 1 hour lunch break)

Holiday Entitlement: 28 Days including public holidays some of this entitlement will have to be taken during the company closure at Christmas.

Remuneration: c15K pa Full Time Negotiable dependent on experience

Brief Description of Role
The role is mainly office based within our offices based in Edenbridge Kent within our manufacturing facility.
You will work closely with existing staff performing but not limited to the following duties:
• Processing incoming enquires – by post, email, fax and telephone.
• Preparation of Quotations
• Analysing Specification Document
• Drawing Take-Off’s
• Liaising with clients both existing and potential
• Processing of orders
• Order Progress Chasing
• Liaising with Suppliers – producing Purchase Orders
• Operation of the Company Database System
• General Office Duties
• Diary Management of Directors
• Managing projects of all sizes
• Provide detailed project support
• Project planning/forecast support
• Co-Ordinating project from start to finish
• Setup of new projects
• Invoicing/Final Accounts
• Managing orders & accounts.

Qualifications/Skills

You will be a presentable individual with good social skills. You will possess excellent working knowledge of Computers, Email and Microsoft Office packages with good Excel skills. Experience of databases preferred. The successful candidate will have good communication skills both verbal and written and will be highly numerate. Also you will need to be a confident positive individual with a “can do” attitude who is able to function as part of a team and on his/her own initiative when required. Finally the successful candidate will have good time management skills with a high attention to detail.

Experience/Work Background:

Ideally the candidate will have good communication, Mathematical and computer skills.

Lack of experience and or qualifications will not be a bar to being an applicant as full training will be given, as your positive attitude and strong motivation will form an important part of the evaluation process.
