Mission Aviation Fellowship International (MAF I) is a not-for-profit, Christian organisation whose mission is to fly light aircraft in some of the world’s poorest communities. Every three minutes a MAF aircraft is taking off or landing somewhere in the world to assist missions, churches, aid and development agencies and other national groups to share the love of God.

The Human Resources (HR) Manager for the Africa Region will work closely with senior management, HR personnel and staff to provide guidance on all HR matters including policies and practices. The job holder will also be expected to participate in the decision making process for the region.

The role is varied and covers all generalist aspects of HR. Responsibilities for the Africa Region include overseeing workforce planning, managing succession planning, conducting HR audits, developing and implementing new standards and policies, leading key strategic projects, advising on job evaluation processes, ensuring effective staff well-being practices are in place and overseeing performance management.

In addition, the job holder will need to oversee and own a number of HR manuals, manage HR admin for the region and produce quarterly reporting. The position will be a key member of the senior HR team.

The position is based in Ashford and will require flexible working hours and regular travel to other MAF locations.

Candidates must be degree qualified with post graduate training in HR/personnel management and membership of a HR professional body (e.g. CIPD/AHRI). They will also have significant demonstrable experience at a senior HR management level. Working overseas or having a cross cultural experience would be a distinct advantage.

There is an occupational requirement for the post holder to be a committed Christian. The successful candidate will be expected to take part in prayer and biblical reflection, and to be a role model for the organisation in accordance with our Christian beliefs and standards in the workplace.
