Our client, an International Law Firm are looking for a Graduate and Trainee Assistant to join their established team in the City.
The Graduate and Trainee Management team currently comprises of 3 people (Head of Graduate and Trainee Management, Manager and Assistant). The team are responsible for recruiting up to 18 trainee solicitors per annum and approximately 40 vacation placement students across the spring and summer placements.
Duties include:
• Arranging training contract interviews and facilitating the firm’s assessment days for vacation schemes and training contract candidates.
• Organising and attending the firm’s graduate recruitment marketing events including law fairs, university presentations and open days including presenting at these events.
• Building and maintaining relationships with career services.
• Liaising with the marketing team to update legal publication submissions.
• Being responsible for the graduate recruitment social media accounts and updating the website.
• Organising the yearly trainee induction programme and future and current trainee social events throughout the year.
• Arranging trainee quarterly reviews.
• Maintaining the graduate recruitment database and generating reports.
• Preparing offer letters and general administration duties such as processing invoices, expenses and responding to daily graduate recruitment queries.
Skills and Attributes:
• The ability and willingness to work as part of a close knit team.
• Self-motivated and able to use initiative with a ‘can do’ and flexible approach.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Previous knowledge of a graduate recruitment database is desirable.
• Knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to multi-task and remain calm in demanding situations.
• Previous HR or graduate recruitment experience is beneficial, but not essential.
