South East Water supplies drinking water to 2.1 million customers across Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire. Daily, we supply 565 million litres of drinking water along more than 14,000 kilometres of mains to our customers' taps.
Due to growth within the business, a rare opportunity has arisen for a talented Graduate Process Engineer to join our busy Engineering department, within the Process Engineering team. During the period 2015 to 2020, South East Water will invest more than GBP 475 million in its key supply operations facilitated by the Engineering department. The Graduate Process Engineer will undertake technical deliverables on projects working under direction from the Lead Process Engineer and Project Managers and also in accordance with the requirements set down by the Lead Construction Engineer. The role will include some work on site as well as office based work.
As an engineering graduate within this award winning business you will have real responsibilities from day one and will embark upon training and development that will kick start your career. In this dynamic and fast paced environment, you will encounter a variety of responsibilities and duties that will allow you to establish your career in the water industry.
Responsibilities and Duties include:
* Analysis of performance and enhancement issues on site
* Undertake feasibility studies with option appraisals for optimal solutions based on project needs
* Production of technical reports and drawings (such as outline process flow diagrams and process instrumentation diagrams)
* Preparation of contractual documentation
* Review of contractor's design deliverables
* HAZOPs
* Commissioning and project close out
* Liaison internally with other departments such as Water Quality, Assets and Production.
Key skills include:
* Excellent communication skills including technical report writing and oral communication
* Ability to work effectively with the wider team
* Attention to detail
* Willingness to learn
* Good team working
* Good organisation skills
Requirements:
* A Degree in Engineering or equivalent training
* Up to 4 years relevant experience
* Willingness to work towards Chartered Engineer status
* Desire to gain experience in technical delivery of projects to meet regulatory and business objectives
* Clean UK driving licence
