The main objective of this position, in our eastern region, is to drive the delivery of a consistent supply of high quality drinking water and customer service through the effective management of our water distribution network and operational teams.



The main duties of this role are as follows:



* Manage Distribution teams to effectively operate the mains network; providing the required level of customer service and distribution related activity.

* Deliver the agreed network maintenance strategy

* Contribute to the delivery of the business Leakage Strategy

* Contribute to the creation of an on-going network maintenance strategy within the regulatory 5 year plan

* Provide management support and expertise during incidents

* Manage the field teams in the delivery of excellent customer service; ensuring the operational customer service target is achieved

* Deliver all network related business and incentive targets: Interruptions to supply, written complaints, discolouration contacts, financial performance, water quality, health and safety, work banks and associated age profile etc

* Ensure leaks are responded to and repaired within agreed timescales (end to end) to help achieve the regulatory leakage target and minimise customer impact, complaints and contacts

* Deliver network improvements related to customer service, water pressure, water quality, asset infrastructure etc as required

* Responsibility for the resolution of on-going customer issues

* Work with the Regional Works Delivery Manager to ensure the effective management and delivery of customer and business driven network activity in the designated timescales

* Provide effective reports and presentations as required

* Deputise for Head of Operations where required

* Personnel performance management - deciding on key indicators, measures, outcomes, setting standards.



To be considered for interview you should have:



* Recognised, appropriate Management qualification (CMS, ILM, ONC etc)

* A minimum of 3 years' experience of team, people, management

* Good standard of education

* Extensive experience in managing water distribution networks including water quality

* Extensive experience in contract management.

* Experience in resolving complex customer issues

* Proven experience in strategic planning setting and delivering objectives.

* Understanding and experience of Highway legislation.

* Understanding of the Water Industry Regulations

* Organisational skills, methodical and diligent

* Motivated team player demonstrating a positive attitude and approach to all elements of the role

* There is a requirement to partake in an operational standby roster helping to provide 24/7 cover.

This position is subject to a basic criminal record check and you are required to hold a full UK driving license. There is a requirement of this role to work additional hours including weekends when on Managers standby.
