The Role

Shortbreaks are currently transitioning to a new purpose built platform to support our fully responsive websites and to move away from our legacy systems. This is an exciting time to get fully immersed in our plans to optimise our business and give back valuable time to our Developers and QA’s to deliver optimised systems to support our growing business and continue to create the best websites for our partners and customers.

Your role will be to maintain and optimise our automated testing to support our Web Development team to deliver high quality websites to our customers and partners. As a member of the QA team you will be working closely with our Back End Developers, Front End Developers and Project Managers. You will be responsible for driving our automated testing forward with the ability to define how we approach and deliver our testing strategy.

Our ideal candidate will have the ability to train and mentor other members of the QA team to use our automated tests to best practice and, where possible, to maintain the code to keep the tests relevant and up to date.

What are we looking for?

- Excellent working knowledge of QA methodologies
- Programming skills and the ability to develop and maintain automation scripts from scratch
- Experience in software testing and open source automation tools
- Hands on experience with continuous integration
- Ability to design and document software test plans
- Ability to use version control systems such as Github
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills
- Ability to create an exciting environment for change within the QA team
- Ability to work alongside our Web Delivery team to provide a seamless software delivery lifecycle
- Experience writing tests in Javascript/Node.js
- Understanding of unit testing frameworks
- Understanding of APIs and the client/server relationship
- Ability to interpret systems and logs for root cause analysis
