Rainsford Contracts Ltd specialise in high quality carpentry, joinery and masonry. Our versatile professionals cover everything from new build residential projects to the refurbishment of commercial properties.

As a result of continuing strong growth, we are looking to recruit a Site Manager for a 12 month contract (with a possibility of a permanent contract), to work on a new housing development in the Maidstone/Snodland area. We will also consider someone who is self-employed.

You will need to come from a carpentry and joinery background and have experience of managing projects in the region of £1m to £1.5m.

Your duties will include:

Ensuring that detailed programs and schedules are developed in line with the overall project plan such that material and resources can be procured.

Ensure that all additional work is identified, fully costed and agreed with the main contractor in liaison with the surveyor.

Appreciate and understand the commercial implications and drivers within the construction process and incorporate these with decision making.

Line management of site personnel: monitor site progress and provide direct assistance and support as necessary.

Ensure that safe working practices and safety procedures are fully implemented across the project site.

Attend site meetings, progress meetings, safety meetings and project reviews with main contractor, sub-contractors and/or suppliers

You will need:

CSCS Site Manager Card
SMSTS
First Aid at Work
Strong background of working on carpentry and joinery projects
Excellent organisational skills
Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels
Ability to work under pressure when required
IT literate, with good experience and knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
