Marketing Manager - Canterbury c. £35K base salary (dependant on experience)
John Parker and Son is one of the largest steel distributors and processors in the UK, with a turnover in excess of £100 million and employing more than 500 people. The company is currently growing at an annual rate of 20% and a central part of this growth is maintaining an effective, efficient, motivated and happy workforce. With this in mind, an exciting role has arisen for a proactive, self-motivated individual to lead our Marketing Department.
Reporting directly to the Senior Commercial Manager, you will lead the Marketing Department and be responsible for developing and executing a marketing strategy on behalf of the entire group. You will be responsible for identifying, developing and executing innovative marketing campaigns which will have a significant impact on raising the profile of the business and increasing revenue in line with the company’s forecasted growth.
You will be responsible for managing the group’s social media, promote consistent branding throughout and effectively manage our in-house marketing team to deliver the agreed results.
An important part of the role will be to manage and grow the company’s web sales, which currently contribute ~20% of turnover.
Industry specific training will be provided for successful applicants, where required, with further training provided as per an individual’s personal development. The successful applicant should be able to work well under pressure, generate innovative ideas and be an effective leader.
Job Type: Full-time
T&C’s
• Hours: 37.5 hours minimum per week (you may be required to work additional hours to meet business demands)
• Holiday: 20 days pa
Experience
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in marketing, preferably with experience of leading a small marketing team
• Expert in growing businesses online with clear experience and success in growing online revenue in B2B market
• Highly competent with digital marketing campaigns, including Google Analytics, SEO, PPC, email and automation campaigns
• Proven track record of growing online sales
• Able to develop and run both print production and design
• Able to undertake copywriting tasks on behalf of the marketing department
• Able to effectively estimate and manage budgets e.g. CRM campaigns, ROI analytics
• Have a good understanding of B2B marketing
• Bachelors degree or similar qualification in Marketing

• Excellent knowledge of online and offline marketing channels
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Effective manager
• Good negotiator
• Ability to learn new software applications quickly
• Have a positive attitude and be able to work under pressure
• Be an effective team player
