We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced shift leader to join and expanding global company in Ashford.
You will be responsible for the day to day activities staff and other resources on a shift basis to ensure that delivery schedules, production volumes, and quality, cost and safety outcomes are achieved.
You will have a comprehensive understanding of continuous improvement and a desire to drive and deliver good manufacturing process whilst delivering quality products on time every time.
The main purpose and functions of this role are
• To plan, organise and control production activity to ensure that quality, volume and cost outcomes are achieved.
• To ensure that product is manufactured through the efficient and effective use of resources (materials, equipment and people)
• You will need to ensure that the manufacturing operation meets Food & Drug, CE Mark, industry and local regulations for GMP and Environmental Health & Safety compliance
• You will actively be involved with the recruiting and be required to lead and motivate the team
• Plan resources to ensure that enough people with the required knowledge, attitude and skills exist to meet production demands.
• Create and maintain a climate which enhances good employee relations.
• Compile and analyse relevant data regarding the achievement of KPIs to identify underlying trends, implement opportunities to enhance performance and optimise the use of resources.
• Appraise, develop and coach team members in meeting changing customer/business unit requirements.
• Actively promote Continuous Improvement activities to develop better ways of working.
• Liaise with other departments and be the focal point for support for Engineering, I.T and Maintenance
• Liaise with the Material group to ensure production schedules are appropriate.
• Ensure that all company procedures, KPI's and production schedules are met
The successful candidate will have previous managerial experience gained from within a production or manufacturing environment along with strengths in the following disciplines:
• Leadership, Planning and Organisation, Communication, Results Delivery, Problem Solving, Motivating Others, Team Orientation, Innovation and Quality/Continuous Improvement and Change Orientation.
• Relevant IT experience and work based qualifications

Working Monday to Friday 08.30am to 4.30pm (occasional overtime)
