Randstad are looking for an Estimator with residential and education experience to work with a long standing client of ours. The successful Estimator will be reporting in to the Commercial Director and will be taking responsibility for a portfolio of work.

Overview:

Our client is a successful construction, development, maintenance, investment and management group operating throughout England, predominantly in London and the southern counties.

Our client operates across a broad range of sectors, including Housing, Education, Health and Mixed Use. This side of our client both constructs and develops education, healthcare and housing projects working in partnership with our key stakeholders including Local Authorities, Housing Associations and Commercial sector partners.



Job Purpose:

Our client have an exciting opportunity for an Estimator, based out of their Head Office location in East Sussex / West Kent. You will form part of a key team responsible for supporting the commercial input across a large portfolio of schemes including: large scale regeneration projects, housing, Schools, Hospitals, D&B and much more. Typical schemes range from £10m at the lower end of their normal operation and £80m towards the upper end (although in this instance schemes will be managed by multiple estimators within a team environment).

As Estimator you will be working on a variety of projects, predominantly in the housing, health, education and commercial sectors. The successful person will be required to prepare tenders with duties to include:

* Responding to tenders & pricing work
* Take offs
* Pricing materials and providing cost estimates for future schemes (whole estimates)
* Using estimating software.



Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have experience of working as Senior Estimator previously, ideally with a main contractor. You will have great attention to detail, strong time management and experience of estimating within design and build schemes. Experience with estimating software such as Conquest would be an advantage. Either way, you'll be looking for an opportunity with significant development potential, and enjoy working within a dynamic team-focused environment.



Essential skills and Behaviours:

* BTEC in Building Studies or similar related qualification;
* Excellent numeracy skills & keen eye for detail
* Initiative;
* Team working ability;
* Current valid driving licence.
* HND in Building Studies - is desirable.
