Events Co-ordinator – Fundraising
(Salary £18k-20k pro rata – Fixed Term Contract)
The Aspinall Foundation is a world-leading animal conservation charity, working to protect endangered species through captive breeding and where possible to reintroduce these animals to protected areas in the wild.
The Foundation manages two gorilla rescue and rehabilitation projects in Gabon and Congo, where we have successfully reintroduced over 50 gorillas; projects in Java to protect the critically endangered Javan Gibbons; and Madagascar to protect the greater bamboo Lemur. We also support other projects in Africa and Asia. We operate the most successful primate re-introduction programme in the world. We working with partnership with the Kent-based Howletts and Port Lympne Animal Parks.
This is a fixed term full time role (40 hours a week) for 7 months based at Port Lympne. However, applications will be considered for some part-time working if over a slightly longer fixed-term period. The successful candidate will deliver the Foundation’s events programme and initiate a community fundraising programme aimed at soliciting support for the Foundation’s work. The primary focus will be to deliver the park-based events, including the marketing, organisation, stewardship of the volunteers, administration, and follow-up work. This includes a running event at each Park and a special evening event in September.
You will be able to organise your time and self-manage to achieve agreed objectives, with a strong ability to build relationships with people and demonstrate influencing skills. This role would ideally suit a recent graduate or someone who is still studying, as an entry level job. Experience of organising events is essential.
