Technical Project Manager

The Project Manager role is a new position for our client, a Software House, and we require an experienced individual who can demonstrate a track record of successful delivery of technology and/or operational projects with a disciplined but pragmatic approach.
The Project Manager will be responsible for successful delivery of primarily customer facing projects and responsibilities will include:
o definition of the project scope & objectives
o developing a project plan
o managing internal resources and third parties
o progress tracking & reporting, including RAID registers, gate & quality assurance reviews, etc.
o stakeholder management of the internal and external management teams
o Closure of the project to formalise acceptance of the project deliverables and release project resources
o Support development of business cases with the business sponsors
Additionally, the role will also provide support where required to other companies within the group.
Some international travel may be required (anticipated to be restricted to the EMEA region).
Working Conditions
37.5 hours per week to cover the hours of 09.00 - 17.30 Monday to Friday - and flexibility relating to hours and days worked will be needed in order to meet the needs of the business at any time.
From time to time it may also be necessary to work from other UK or International locations for short periods.
Experience
Essential
Minimum of three years project management experience in:
·Delivery of multiple, complex projects
·Initiation of Projects including governance structures, reporting procedures, etc.
·Planning and Reporting to a high standard
·Stakeholder management and collaborative working
Key attributes:
·Self-motivated and proactive
· Analytical and logical approach to work with strong attention to detail
·Effective communication and presentation skills and comfortable working across all levels of the business
· Ability to plan & prioritise workload, ensuring deadlines are met and respond quickly to changing priorities
·Ability to maintain good working relationships, both internally & externally and deliver through others
·Ability to run small multiple projects concurrently
Desirable
· Experience of the payments industry
Level of Education/Skills
Essential
· Educated to ‘A’ level or equivalent
· Good knowledge of project management methodologies and working practices (PRINCE2 Project Management qualifications such as APM, PRINCE 2.0 or ITIL V3, preferable but not essential)
· Competent in MS Project
Desirable
· Degree level education to 2:1 or above or equivalent
· Knowledge of the SDLC including Agile
· Experience of working in an ITIL© environment
