Quality & Process Improvement Engineer

We are currently looking for a Process Improvement Engineer to work for a very successful manufacturing company in Kent.

Job Purpose
Your primary objective will be to improve the line production performance KPI's focussing on the key area of yield improvement.

You will do this by:
• Building on our culture of engagement, commitment and continuous improvement.
• Deploying our WCM toolset QEWO for problem solving on live situations on the production line.
• Establishing critical process parameters throughout the production line and using SPC provide the documentation required to communicate Quality standards to production staff.
• Ensure that Product Quality standards and internal test methods are maintained in line with current ISO/EN/BS requirements.
• Organise and supervise trials on the production line by liaising with Planning and the Production team.
• Visit other sites in Europe to attend forums, training sessions and trials.

Key result areas
Costs
Reduce the unit cost price by applying the FI tool set in order to improve Net Saleable Yield.
Quality
Ensure all specifications are up to date with latest process improvements.
People
Provide and deliver FI training/development materials.

The ideal candidate will come from a Manufacturing background within Quality Engineering, with degree/HNC or equivalent qualifications and hold a safety qualification such as an IOSH Certificate.

Experience in initiating, leading and/or driving continuous improvement, ideally in a WCM environment. In addition experience in Focussed Improvement and SPC would be advantageous.

In this role you will be required to produce and review detailed numerical and statistical analysis on the board-plant performance and therefore must be comfortable and competent in numerical and data presentation.
Paying a salary of up to £34K the role will be working Monday to Friday (08:45 - 17:00) with an early finish on Fridays. The company are based in Kent, not too far from the Maidstone area.
