Due to continued success, growth and winning new business projects our client is actively seeking a Design Engineer to compliment and strengthen their existing team
Selective Catalytic Reduction - SCR
You will have/be:
* Engineering Degree
* Experience of working on precision product design in Automotive/Aerospace/Defense.
* Knowledge of CAD design [preferably Solidworks].
* Excellent knowledge of engineering drawings and specifications.
* Excellent Knowledge of GD&T to company/ISO standards
* Good IT skills e.g. Microsoft office.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a group and as self-motivated.
* Excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
Preferred
Experience of working with simulation, either through doing or specifying and analyzing results Mechanical,
* Thermal and Magnetic FEA with Ansys/Maxwell
* 1D hydraulic with AMESim
* CFD
The Role:
As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design of the components and assemblies, covering both SCR dosers in the product line. Reporting to the SCR Design Lead.
* Work as part of the design team in Gillingham and Rochester on innovative and optimised concepts for best performance in the SCR application.
* Perform design calculations to ensure designs meet performance, durability and cost targets.
* Work with suppliers and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure that implications on manufacturing are factored into the design
* Lead DFMEA (Design Failure Effects Analysis) and other design related APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities.
* Produce drawings to accurately describe design intent with appropriate GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
* Support design and development of tooling for Gillingham pilot line.
