Due to continued success, growth and winning new business projects our client is actively seeking a Senior Development Engineer to compliment and strengthen their existing team
Selective Catalytic Reduction - SCR
You will have/be:
*
Engineering degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
*
Experience, since graduation, working on precision product development or testing in Automotive/Aerospace/Defense.
*
Experience of testing, data collection and analysis from test rig, engine dyno or vehicle.
*
Experience of working with simulation, either through doing or specifying and analyzing results.
*
Knowledge of engineering drawings and specifications.
*
Experience of managing direct reports (preferred), but aptitude to mentor and develop the team around you.
*
Ability to develop and present technical presentations to customers and suppliers.
*
Good IT skills e.g. Microsoft office.
*
Ability to work effectively as part of a group and is self-motivated.
*
Excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
Preferred but not essential:
*
Knowledge of spray formation and testing.
*
Ability to travel to supplier sites (Germany, France, others).
The role:
Reporting to the SCR Development Manager you will be responsible for the development of the SCR spray and hydraulic performance, covering both SCR dosers in the product line. The role involves leading the activities for the full range of the development. Reporting to the SCR Development Manager.
*
Work with the designers in Gillingham and Rochester (USA) on optimizing the concepts for best performance in the SCR application.
*
Lead hydraulic development to improve understanding of flow regimes in the dosers and optimise the design to improve performance and reduce variation.
*
Lead spray testing in Gillingham, developing both test methodology and facilities to improve data accuracy and make the testing more representative of the correct boundary conditions.
*
Lead development of customer application spray and mixers in both rig and engine testing. Development methodologies to create robust mixer concepts and validation methods.
*
Be subject matter expert on spray and spray mixing for answering customer questions including supporting customer meetings where required.
