Shepherd Neame is Britain’s oldest Brewery based in Faversham, Kent. As an independent family business we own and operate over 328 pubs and produce a wide range of ales and lagers, including Spitfire Ale, Whitstable Bay and Bishops Finger.
Our popular Visitor Centre and The Old Brewery Store are atmospheric and versatile venues for brewery tours, weddings, private dining functions, parties, business meetings and concerts. The Visitor Centre is also home to the busy Brewery Shop.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are now seeking a Visitor Centre Supervisor with a passion for delivering outstanding service to join the award-winning Visitor Centre team.
This varied role includes supervision of day-to-day activities, including brewery tours, ensuring the smooth running of Visitor Centre bar, in particular making sure the beers are kept and served in tip-top condition.
The position also involves joining the team of tour guides and leading visitors through the brewery and explaining the brewing process and the Company’s history and heritage as well as assisting with planning and supervising some functions.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR:
The successful candidate will possess a friendly welcoming manner, an outgoing personality, enthusiasm and the confidence to talk to customers and will be able to demonstrate customer-facing experience, the ability to supervise and motivate staff, organisational competence and an eye for detail. Experience in a similar role and demonstrable supervisory skills would also be an advantage.

This is a full-time position (average 37½ hours per week) – however the exact hours will vary from week to week, depending on bookings. Tours and functions frequently take place at evenings and weekends so availability at these times and ability to work on a flexible basis are essential. The successful candidate will be required to work most weekends.
