Shepherd Neame is Britain’s oldest Brewery based in Faversham, Kent. As an independent family business we own and operate over 328 pubs and produce a wide range of ales and lagers, including Spitfire Ale, Whitstable Bay and Bishops Finger.
Our popular Visitor Centre and The Old Brewery Store are atmospheric and versatile venues for brewery tours, weddings, private dining functions, parties, business meetings and concerts. The Visitor Centre is also home to the busy Brewery Shop.
We are now seeking a suitably qualified and experienced part-time Bookings Administrator with a passion for delivering outstanding service to join the award-winning Visitor Centre team.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The role is based in the busy Visitor Centre office handling telephone and e-mail enquiries, processing bookings, liaising with customers re payment, providing support to the department and helping to administer the online shop including reconciling payments and helping to liaise with delivery couriers.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR:
The ideal candidate will have :
• An excellent telephone manner.
• The ability to work efficiently with a range of computer software systems is essential.
• Customer-facing experience and time spent in a busy administration role would be an advantage.
• Accuracy with figures with an attention to detail.
• High standard of written and spoken English are all essential.
Applications must include:
• An example of an occasion on which you have gone the extra mile to provide excellent service to customers.
• Brief details of the experience you feel is most relevant to this role.
• A summary of your duties in your current (or most recent role).
• Examples of instances when you have adopted a flexible approach to assist when things have changed at short notice.
These points can be addressed in an additional supporting statement.
The normal working week is likely to be 20 – 25 hours (usually Monday to Friday) with some flexibility required depending on the level of bookings. During busy periods, the successful candidate may be required to assist with other Visitor Centre activities.
