East Malling Services is a wholly owned commercial subsidiary of NIAB EMR, the principle UK contractor for horticultural research and development in the perennial crop sector and the complementary areas of environment and landscape research. Building on this technical base, it offers knowledge differentiated services to trial growing media, crop health and nutrition and provenance, as well as expert technical support and development activity in crop irrigation, fruit breeding and integrated crop management.

HORTICULTURAL SERVICES ASSISTANT

We are seeking an assistant for the Horticultural Services team to work on field, polytunnel and glasshouse plots. The person appointed will be required to apply pesticides both by knapsack and tractor trailed equipment, carry out general crop husbandry duties both under protection (glass and polytunnel) and in the field, assist in the harvest and recording of crops and any other tasks as required.

The appointment will be on Pay Band 10, £14,848 per annum. 25 days annual leave plus 8 days public holidays, pleasant working environment and eligibility to join a pension scheme upon appointment.
