To research, design, test and implement new products / systems within the Wozair Group along with providing a technical support and improvement function for the current product catalogue.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Undertake and be responsible for product improvement projects.
- Undertake and be responsible for new product design projects.
- Research EU directives, international and national standards related to products under development in order that such requirements are embedded into the design.
- Prepare detailed program schedules or timescales for the individual projects to which you are assigned and be responsible for maintaining the agreed program.
- Prepare costed proposals for development projects and monitor expenditure.
Prepare and provide drawings and documentation for each development project as required and be responsible for ensuring they are checked.
- Prepare development project status reports.
- Produce detailed 3D models to take a part / assembly from concept to production.
- Identify and correspond with test laboratories in-order to develop the required test method and procedures, attend testing to act as company witness and assist with any issues arising, then to review and approve reports and results.
- Prepare product testing procedures and undertake or assist in undertaking product testing in-house.
- Check work, drawings, documents and the like prepared by other members of the department.
- Record hours worked on each project.
- Provide support to other departments as required.
Key Skills Required
- Strong logical and critical thinking.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office package.
- SolidWorks / AutoCAD.
- Personal planning and time management.
- Sheet metalwork knowledge / experience, including CAD / CAM.
- Electrical / pneumatic schematic layout drawings.
- Mechanical design, structural calculations.
Education & Experience
- Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience of project lifecycle management.
- Basic knowledge of programming languages (ideally C, C++, Python, PHP, Javascript).
- Basic 3D modelling and analysis.
- New product development and lifecycle management.
