Background

Applications are invited for an Administrator to join LASAR, a research and outreach enterprise that seeks to discover and extend school students’ reasoning about ‘big questions’ that bridge science and religion (see www.LASARcentre.com).

The Role

The post holder will be responsible for all administration associated with the centre, in particular organising events for schools and the wider public. The post is based in the Research and Knowledge Exchange team in the Faculty of Education.

You must be highly motivated, proactive and committed to excellent customer service. You will be working with a wide range of people from visiting academic speakers to school students and should be committed to providing an excellent experience for all.
You will have:
- Experience of organising events including budgeting and managing expenses
- A demonstrated interest in the questions and issues that LASAR explores
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
- Experience or demonstrated enthusiasm for supporting research
- Experience of administration within a busy team environment with a varied workload
- Ability to prioritise work, excellent organisation skills and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Experience of maintaining office systems with excellent IT Skills and confidence in using all MS Office software, databases and email.

The Person

Qualified to degree level or equivalent, you will have recent administrative experience and excellent IT skills. You will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and will be happy to work as a member of a team.
Although the role is based at the Canterbury campus, there may be a requirement for some national and international travel, and some travel between campuses and other venues.
