Our client is a provider of refinishing paint products and aerosol solutions to the automotive, industrial and decorative markets, who are now recruiting for a Social Media Manager.

This Social Media Manager role exists to implement a marketing strategy that drives brand awareness, customer interest / leads and sales growth through the use of social media.

As part of a coherent and consistent marketing strategy all social media content should be produced and published to engage with the target audience and achieve maximum impact. The Social Media Manager is responsible for ensuring that all social media outlets are regularly updated, maintained and evaluated to ensure the dynamic social media presence of the company.

As well as having the appropriate technical skills the successful person coming in to this role will have the drive, determination and personal attributes to contribute to the continuing growth and success of the Company.

The main accountabilities of this role are:-

1. The development of a social media strategy that meets the goals and objectives of the business, including how social media can most effectively contribute to business performance. To also identify the appropriate usage and limitations of social media within the business.

2. To identify the target audiences in organisations who are likely to be influencers in purchasing decisions, and the social media content and social media platforms that will be effective in reaching and engaging these audiences.

3. To plan ahead social media activities in conjunction with other marketing initiatives to ensure optimum cost effectiveness and maximum impact. To also establish a social media budget and monitor expenditure.

4. To produce dynamic and appealing visual content that reflects a coherent and consistent brand message that has a maximum and lasting impact on the target audience. To also ensure there is a consistency in all visual content developed across all material for the business.

5. To produce engaging and accurate written content that engages target customers repeatedly by conveying a coherent message and setting out information in a clear and precise manner.

6. To publish tailored content across different social media outlets on a regular basis at scheduled times of the day and in the lead up to events / product launches, that reaches and engages the broadest target audience and has the maximum impact.

7. To ensure that all interaction and responses across the company’s social media platforms are read and responded to promptly in an appropriate manner, ensuring a positive social media brand presence for the company. Where there are instances of negative feedback, to ensure that the matter is researched and an appropriate response provided. To also monitor the social media presence of competitors.

8. To regularly assess the benefits of the company social media presence and content, both quantifiable, (sales growth and customer retention), and subjective (customer interaction and feedback and perception). To regularly report on the benefits of the company’s social media.

A demonstrable track record and achievement in social media work, including social media planning, marketing and content creation, is essential. The ability to demonstrate examples of creating and publishing your own social media content, eg blogs, YouTube videos is also preferable.

The successful candidate must have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and tools, how each can be deployed in different scenarios and to best effect, as well as keeping up to date with social media trends and development.

You should also be able to understand business, eg USPs and technical issues related to products.

Excellent writing and language skills with an ability to communicate information and ideas and to engage audiences, is important, along with good inter-personal skills as required for team and multi-function working. A great attention to detail and a natural tendency to acquire new social media skills is also essential.
