South East Water supplies drinking water to 2.1 million customers across Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire. Daily, we supply 565 million litres of drinking water along more than 14,000 kilometres of mains to our customers' taps.
We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our busy Engineering department based at Snodland. The Electrical Engineer will undertake electrical, instrumentation, control and automation (EICA) deliverables on Capital Projects working under direction from the Project Manager(s) and Senior Electrical Engineer, in accordance with the requirements set down by the Lead MEICA Engineer.
Responsibilities & Duties include:
* Involvement on small/medium and large projects from end-to-end including scope development, design, approvals, contract tender, evaluation and award, delivery, commissioning and successful handover
* Electrical outline design for technical solutions including feasibility studies, technical reports, scoping, preparation of User Requirements Specifications.
* Analysis of options and selection of technical solutions as appropriate
* Delivering to deadlines and budgets set by the business or governing body
* Assist Project Managers in preparation of scheme programme, estimates and tender documentation
* Undertake designers responsibilities under the most appropriate Health and Safety Legislation under direction set out by the Lead MEICA Engineer
The successful candidate will hold a HNC/HND or a Degree in Engineering or have equivalent training and substantial experience in the relevant area and be working towards becoming an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer. You will also have experience in the design and specifications for water related projects.
To succeed in this role you should have the ability to work as part of a team and to co-ordinate and interface with other engineering disciplines as well as other departments within the organisation, project stakeholders, contractors and members of the public. You will have good technical report writing skills, good oral communication, strong organisational skills and a positive attitude.
Although this role is office based you will be expected to travel to any location within our supply areas, as required, as part of the project(s) you are working on e.g. pre-construction and construction phase elements such as scoping or Contractor progress/design review meetings.

In return, we offer a competitive salary, a minimum of 25 days annual leave, a stakeholder pension scheme in which the maximum Company contribution is 10% and life assurance scheme.
