We have an opportunity for you to join our team in Paddock Wood as a Product Controller.

As Product Controller you will be the recognised product expert within our operations area initially focusing on specific products but able to broaden product knowledge across the site and product groups.

It will be your role to ensure that customers receive the required product quality by working alongside the commercial teams so that stock can be managed and allocated accordingly.

You will also be responsible for the supervision and coaching of the QA Inspector team, ensuring knowledge and expertise is spread across the department along with enabling staff to reach their full potential.

Your role will include:

• Offer guidance and contribute to decisions regarding quality
• Coach and develop the QA team
• Support the buying team in delivering financial results to plan
• Setting appropriate quality standards. Investigate customer rejection via Root Cause Analysis
• Reassessment of product to maintain and monitor quality within the supply chain
• Develop, monitor and control the implementation of a weekly and daily plan.
• Work closely with the ripening teams.
• Contribute to decisions regarding quality and seasonal reviews.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships.
• Participate and contribute in site meetings by providing product and process expertise

You will need:

• Experience in a similar role
• Ideally Avocado experience
• Supervisory skills
• Organisational skills and time management
• Attention to detail
• Flexibility and multi-tasking
• Good IT skills (Excel/Word) to Intermediate level
• Good communicator – able to provide solutions and influence

You will be required to work 42.5 hours per week including weekend working on a rota basis
