We require an experienced technical author to cover one of our staff for a spell of maternity leave until September, and there is a good possibility of a more permanent position for a successful candidate.

All technical writing companies have their own ways of working, and I will offer training and support in respect of our own style, but I will expect applicants to be familiar with compiling Building Fabric manuals, Health and safety files etc and to have some experience of working with Mechanical and Electrical services manuals – although I am prepared to accept applications for someone who might require some extra training in this very specialist area.

You will have good skills in the usual Microsoft Office packages, and be clear and confident on the telephone as much of our research is carried out via telephone.

Our company at present has 5 permanent employees each who work on their own projects with complete autonomy. Linelive work in a friendly open plan environment, so you must be a good team player as we all help each other out at busy times. The office is on a beautiful country estate – which means that there is no public transport within a mile, and so your own transport is essential.
