Assistant Chef, JOB SHARE POSITION
This is a Jobshare position ( 20 pro rata per week ) . The actual shift is 40 hours every other week, Sunday 10.00 till 19.00, Tuesday to Friday 11.30 till 20.00, with every Saturday and Monday off.
The job role is to assist the chef, in production of meals and salads, for a multi-national student body of approximately 500 at CATS Canterbury , to deputise in the Chefs absence and to supervise junior staff.
Ideally you will have large scale food production experience, be conscientious, patient with customers and have the relevant Catering qualifications, City and Guilds 706/1 and 2 or the equivalent.
A knowledge of many types of cuisine would be an advantage, with an eye for presentation and a good palate is essential . Excellent customer service skills are vital. You will need to work in an orderly manner, be time aware and work as part of a team and be able to manage a team.
We are offering £7.70 per hour and would envisage the position would start in February 2017. We will be interviewing as soon as applications come in.
The role would be subject to satisfactory references, visa if required and a satisfactory DBS check
