Still a privately owned, family business, Mack is one of the largest importers, packers and suppliers of fresh fruit in the UK. Supplying to a number of major supermarkets and retailers throughout the country, it’s likely you will have seen or perhaps even purchased some of our products.

We are looking for a two Label Room Operatives to join our busy Operational team in Paddock Wood, Kent on a fixed term contract basis.

You will be responsible for printing labels of the correct style, volume and quality to support the business requirements and meet customer specifications.

Excellent attention to detail is required to continually monitor print quality and deal with any problems that may arise. You will issue correct packaging to Operational staff and receive back unused packaging, ensuring compliance to departmental procedures at all times. The ability to work to deadlines, be well organised and adapt quickly within a fast paced environment is essential. You will:

• Prepare areas to order labels in the correct quantities via team leader requests
• Check the detail of labels printed in the label room and on line against availability to ensure that they are correct before issuing them using the quick spec system
• Ensure that all paperwork is completed and filed correctly at all times
• Ensure that all packhouse equipment that is stored in the label rooms are stored in the correct manner and maintained to a good standard
• Comply with all relevant Company policies and procedures.

Ideally we're looking for somebody who has:

• The ability to self-direct take own initiative
• Basic literacy and numeracy
• Working knowledge of Excel in order to read and check information accurately and to input data into spreadsheets
• Good communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Good time management skills

We operate a 42.5 hour working week (with weekend working on a Rota basis). You will be required to work a variety of shifts (you would receive your rota in advance). Our shift times include:

5.45am-2.45pm
6.45am-3.45pm
7.45am-4.45pm
8.45am-5.45pm
12.45pm-9.45pm (you would receive a 15% premium for working this shift)

You may also be required to work our night shift which would either be 5.45pm-5.45am or 9.45pm-6.15am which you would receive a 25% premium on top of your normal salary for.

Due to the nature of the shifts, it is essential that you have access to your own transport.
