Brachers are looking for a member of staff to join their Collections & Recoveries team as a Customer Executive.
Based at our offices in Maidstone, Kent Customer Executives are responsible for managing and progressing a caseload of debt recovery files ensuring a proactive and strategic approach is taken to achieve collection targets. If you are looking for a challenging role with lots of people contact within a very busy team environment, then this could be just the role for you. You would be required to follow a shift pattern 8am to 4pm and 10am to 6pm on alternate weeks.
The ideal candidate will
• be self-motivated and able to demonstrate a positive attitude towards their work and colleagues
• have excellent client service and communication skills, especially when using the telephone
• be able to build rapport with others
• be able to follow telephone call structures, including some limited use of scripting where required
• pay attention to detail and able to follow set processes.
• be able to remain calm, positive and enthusiastic when dealing with difficult situations
• be able to demonstrate a flexible attitude towards solving problems and changing demands
• be motivated by achieving personal and team goals and comfortable working to tight timescales and towards achieving targets
The main areas of responsibility are:
• taking ownership and responsibility of debt recovery cases
• researching and analysing cases in order to decide the best course of action
• producing and checking outgoing letters and documents
• telephone collections
• engaging with debtors to find constructive solutions
• proactive approach, attention to deadlines, escalating cases when necessary
• effective consideration and use of legal action up to Judgment
• awareness of regulatory requirements, ensuring that collections are maximised but within a compliant framework
• actively contributing to team and routine case review meetings
Previous experience of working in a similar or legal role would be an advantage although not essential as full training will be provided. A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or higher including English Language and Mathematics are required for this role. A levels, a degree (particularly a law degree) or previous paralegal experience would all be beneficial although not essential.
The salary for this role is £18,000 per annum and an incentive scheme based upon collections and other targets is available together with additional benefits.
