LINE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Key Responsibilities
The laboratory manager must have the appropriate qualifications and / or proven laboratory experience relevant to the job role.
They are responsible for:
· Ensuring the effective operation of the laboratory to budget
· Maintenance of CLAS accreditation standards
· Laboratory personnel training records
· Effective and accurate internal reporting of Laboratory findings
· Monitor equipment performance and arrange appropriate repair, service and calibration
· Investigate atypical results and quality system failures and action accordingly
· Contributing to ongoing development of companies HACCP plans
· The up keep of the Company Microbiological Methods Manual
· Development and maintenance of all laboratory sampling to meet customer and legal specifications
· Stock Control and ordering
· Product and raw material release control
· Data Transfer to LIMS system
· Budget control
· Liaising with external laboratories for external testing
Standard Duties
The Laboratory Manager must be have responsibility for
I Laboratory operations
II Day to day running of laboratory activities
III Ensuring that the quality of work and the quality system are implemented and followed at all time
IV Ensuring the integrity of the laboratories work and appropriate confidentially of any findings or results.
The manager shall keep up to date with developments and knowledge in the relevant testing activity. This is to be achieved by contact with sales representatives, attending technical meetings and appropriate reference publications.
